Where organic shapes meet graphic minimalism, Studiopepe’s latest pendant lamp for Pholc dances between art and function—capturing dreams in light and shadow.
Milan-based design duo Studiopepe (Chiara Di Pinto and Arianna Lelli Mami) has teamed up with Swedish brand Pholc to create Dreamcatcher, a pendant lamp that blurs the line between lighting and sculpture. Unveiled at Milan Design Week 2025 as part of Aria. A Medium for Connection—an immersive installation for Archiproducts Milano—the design embodies a poetic tension between organic fluidity and disciplined geometry.
“Pholc wanted to introduce something more visionary into their collection,” says Di Pinto. “The challenge was merging our expressive language with their minimalist ethos. Despite the distance between Milan and Stockholm, we found harmony.”
More Than a Lamp: A Talisman of Light
Inspired by the protective symbolism of dreamcatchers, the lamp transforms into a modern talisman for interiors. “We imagined it as a mobile sculpture,” explains Lelli Mami. “It’s not just functional—it radiates serenity and playfulness through clean, intentional forms.”
The design features:
Two boomerang-shaped elements (acting as light sources)
A mirrored cylinder (reflecting dynamic light patterns)
A semi-transparent glass pendant (diffusing soft, filtered illumination)
As light interacts with each component, the lamp casts ever-shifting shadows, creating a kinetic visual dialogue that changes with the viewer’s perspective.
Two Configurations, Endless Possibilities
Dreamcatcher comes in two versatile versions:
Arc: One small + two large boomerangs—perfect for spacious rooms or hospitality settings.
Bow: One large + two small boomerangs—a compact option for intimate spaces.
Aria: Where Light Tells a Story
Within Studiopepe’s Aria installation at Archiproducts Milano, the Dreamcatcher pendants float in a dreamlike landscape of iridescent surfaces and pastel hues. Reflective materials amplify the play of contrasts, while bursts of color add whimsy—transforming the space into a sensory narrative about connection and emotion.
Design as Multidisciplinary Art
For Studiopepe, objects are never isolated. “We envision their context—the rooms they inhabit, the people who interact with them,” says Di Pinto. This holistic approach is palpable in Dreamcatcher: a piece that demands to be seen, touched, and experienced—not just as a light source, but as a sculptural storyteller.
Dreamcatcher is a reminder that design, at its best, captures the magic of the everyday.
